Study Abroad Programs

Study Abroad Portal

CGPS is pleased to present a world of opportunities at the University of Delaware. We invite you to explore this study abroad portal to discover some of the many ways that you can internationalize your undergraduate education.

This site is focused on 2022 Summer programs, and is designed to help you navigate all of the study abroad and virtual global opportunities at CGPS. This page will be updated regularly, and programs that are open for applications are highlighted in yellow below. Programs that have been suspended for these terms are noted as well. Please check back often for the most up to date information. If you're looking to search for study abroad programs by course topic or destination, follow the link to the CGPS study abroad database to start exploring.

If you still have questions after reviewing the program descriptions and answers to Frequently Asked Questions, stop by our open Study Abroad Advising Hours in Zoom on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. during the fall and spring semesters.

Learn about the Winter 2022 Virtual International Internship Opportunity

Due to the uncertainty about international travel as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, CGPS developed Virtual International Internships. UD undergraduate students can participate in this global educational and professional opportunity while earning academic credit and fulfilling their Discovery Learning Experience by participating in virtual international internships with companies and organizations around the world.

Winter 2022 Virtual International Internship - Engineering

  • 4-week project-based unpaid internship.
  • Virtual International Individual internship placements at companies/organizations in Sydney, Australia; Auckland, New Zealand; Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, or Dublin Ireland.
  • Open to undergraduate students in the Engineering program.
  • Application closes on October 4.

Passport Notice

If you do not have a current passport, you should be aware that COVID-19 has delayed passport processing times significantly. The U.S. State Department has announced that it now takes an average of 18 weeks (4.5 months) to process a passport.

Given the circumstances, if you want to study abroad in 2022, you need to apply for or renew your passport NOW - even if you’re not 100% sure about your study abroad plans yet. We recommend expediting both the processing time and the shipping time for your passport.

The University will continue to monitor the ongoing situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus) as we approach the departure date for study abroad programs. Please reach out to the program coordinator or faculty director with questions and continue to monitor the UD coronavirus webpage for updates.

If UD decides to cancel a study abroad program, we will communicate directly with affected students. In this case, the University of Delaware will reimburse the cost of program fees, tuition and flights (if purchase was advised by CGPS).
