Jeff Jackson

Biography

Jeff Jackson has more than two decades of leadership experience in public relations, philanthropy and nonprofit management with some of the region's leading organizations. Through his dedicated professional and volunteer service, Jeff has established a strong track record for superior performance and results. He is well known for his collaborative, confident and tenacious work style, and as a person who can quickly adapt to change in an organization. Jeff is an affable communicator and project leader who has a genuine interest in helping individuals and organizations develop to their full potential. Jeff's exceptional success in developing and implementing award-winning public relations strategies is evidence of his strong focus on the success of the organizations he serves and, particularly, the people working within them.

In his current professional role, Jeff is responsible for identifying opportunities and crafting compelling proposals to build strategic funding partnerships with corporations, foundations and government entities to advance the mission of Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County. Jeff contributes to the greater success of Goodwill by using his strategic communication skills on other projects, including the organization's successful application for the Optimas Awards from Workforce magazine, a respected trade publication that covers human resources, management and workforce development issues. The magazine's editorial team named Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County as the recipient of the 2013 Optimas Award for General Excellence.

In addition to his work at Goodwill, Jeff is an experienced instructor who teaches public relations campaign planning in a discovery-learning format to undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Delaware. He serves as an effective teacher and mentor to his students as they embark on their careers. In addition, Jeff is supporting the next generation of leaders in communication by serving as the professional adviser to the Public Relations Student Society of America chapter at the University of Delaware.

Jeff earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Delaware and a master's degree from Saint Mary's University of Minnesota. Since 2005, he has held the prestigious Certified Fund Raising Executive credential, the only internationally recognized professional certification for philanthropic fundraising executives. Jeff is an active member and leadership volunteer for the Public Relations Society of America and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He is a past Board President of Read Aloud Delaware and a past Executive Board member of the Delaware Press Association.
