Bio:

Alyssa Whittaker is an alumna of the University of Delaware with degrees in Health Behavior Science and a Master of Science in Health Promotion. She began her work with UD Cooperative Extension as an intern in 2016 and kept in touch while teaching High School Spanish and pursuing a degree in Health Promotion. After returning to serve as an Extension Scholar in Summer 2019, she became certain she wanted a long-term career with Cooperative Extension. Then, in November 2020, she joined the New Castle County Extension team as a Health and Wellness Extension Agent!

In this position, Alyssa provides 4-H healthy living programming throughout the state on behalf of the Walmart Foundation Healthy Habits grant and nutrition education programming to youth on behalf of SNAP-Ed/EFNEP. She also plans and provides Health and Wellness Ambassador training to teens across the state while fostering youth-adult partnerships in Delaware.

In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys hiking, camping, cooking, crocheting and yoga! She has her RYT-200 and is a certified yoga instructor, as well as a clinical health coach. She can often be found spending time with her family and friends or her husband hiking in Delaware’s State Parks!
