Lawrence A. Fleischman Chairman of the American Wing of the Metropolitan Museum of Art
Morrison H. Heckscher joined the staff of the American Wing of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1969 and was made Lawrence A. Fleischman Chairman of the American Wing in 2001. He received his BA from Wesleyan University, his MA from the University of Delaware (The Winterthur Program in Early American Culture), and his PhD from Columbia University. Currently he is a trustee of the Henry Francis du Pont Winterthur Museum. The focus of his research, publications, and exhibitions has been 18th century American furniture and 19th and 20th century American architecture.
