The Curriculum

The Program's two-year curriculum combines the intensive study of objects with a multidisciplinary perspective. The key elements of the curriculum are connoisseurship courses, a master's thesis, core requirements, distribution requirements, field-based learning, and a choice of electives. The Executive Committee of the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture, comprised of faculty and staff from the Museum and the University, regularly evaluates the curriculum to help students attain their intellectual and professional goals.
