Collections

The Winterthur Museum and Country Estate holds one of the finest collections of American decorative arts in the world and its library is internationally distinguished for its collection of ephemera, manuscripts, and printed books. The object collections cover the years between 1640 and 1860; the library collections include items from the 1500s to the 1920s.

The Museum's collections are further supported by an outstanding research library at the University of Delaware that contains more than 2 million volumes, an excellent set of electronic databases, and fine special collections.
