Careers
We believe that the best way to prepare people to become effective professionals in the public humanities is to link academic and professional training with richly varied experiences. Our goal is to teach Fellows to analyze, organize, interpret, and communicate to the highest standards of excellence. After more than fifty years of teaching graduate students in a changing economic and cultural climate, these standards have endured.

After graduation, the majority of Fellows find careers in museums, academic teaching, preservation, consulting, development, law, and the antiques trade—careers where intellectual agility, professional adaptability, and lucid communication are prized.

I have interacted with many University of Delaware material culture students, and can say unequivocally that they are well trained and adept in the field. On the basis of this reputation, museums and related institutions will often try to hire Delaware students first.
