Volunteering with Wellspring
Wellspring offers volunteer opportunities for students to be active in health promotion both on and off campus. The two main volunteer programs that Wellspring Coordinates are:
1.) Pow!–The Promoters of Wellness, a service of Wellspring in which students are trained to provide educational programs and activities for their peers on a variety of wellness topics including fitness & nutrition, body image and disordered eating, sexuality, safer sex, risky sexual behaviors, general wellness, stress management, and massage. Explore the Pow website linked above if you would like to request a Pow program for your group or become a peer educator yourself!
2.) S. O. S.–Sexual Offense Support Services, provides the University of Delaware campus with a 24 hr/day crisis service & victim advocacy for victims of sexual assault, intimate partner violence & stalking, as well as educational programs in classrooms, residence halls, student organizations, or for any other groups. Explore the SOS website to learn more about these topics or how to become an SOS volunteer.
Other volunteer opportunities offered by our office are:
3.) Membership in the Student Organization "V8 presents Opt 4" which plans alternative fun activities for students that don't involve alcohol.
4.) We also occasionally have special projects of need in our office and/or projects designed by you for our office, UD students, or for area high schools.
For more information about any of the above opportunities, send e-mail to wellspring@udel.edu or call the office @ 831-3457 and set up an appointment to speak with a Wellspring professional.

Movie Showing for World AIDS Day: House of Numbers
120 Smith Hall
"This is the first film to present the uncensored POVs of virtually all the major players; in their own settings, in their own words. It rocks the foundation upon which all conventional wisdom regarding HIV/AIDS is based. House of Numbers could well be the opening volley in a battle to bring sanity and clarity to an epidemic gone awry." MEET THE FILMMAKERS: Brent Leung and David Snyder will be available after the screening for Q&A about the film. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to ask the directors your questions! Sponsored by the LGBT Office and Wellspring.
