S.O.S. Services & Programs

24 Hour Crisis/Support

...for survivors of all forms of sexual assault and intimate partner violence, as well as survivors' friends, roommates, significant others, family members, colleagues, and UD staff working with the survivor. To contact an SOS volunteer at any time day or night, call the Health Service at 831-2226 and tell them you wish to speak to someone from S.O.S. The nurse will take your first name and a phone number and have an S.O.S. volunteer call you back within 10-15minutes (usually right away). This service is for ALL survivors -- regardless of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, etc. and regardless of what kind of assault occurred (date/acquaintance rape, alcohol/drug-facilitated rape, stranger rape, childhood sexual abuse, incest, offensive touching, relationship violence, unhealthy relationship, etc.) If you are not sure if the service is for you, CALL. We can help point you in the right direction. We're here to help.

Ongoing Advocacy

...for survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault or stalking. Anyone who contacts S.O.S. during the initial crisis phase, and who is pursuing a police interview, medical services, counseling services, financial assistance, on-campus judicial case, or an off-campus criminal case, may request advocacy through an S.O.S. volunteer. S.O.S. members are trained to be able to answer questions for survivors regarding how these various services and processes work and what to expect. S.O.S. volunteers are trained to accompany survivors for any and all parts of these various meetings and hearings, as emotional support and to be able to answer questions and make appropriate referrals. To request advocacy, call the S.O.S. hotline (above) or Wellspring at 831-3457.

Individual Appointments

...for survivors of intimate partner violence or sexual assault. Callers who have contacted the hotline previously and would like to meet as a follow-up, students who learn about S.O.S. through a program or our website, or anyone wishing to talk in-person may make an appointment for one-on-one support, crisis counseling, information, and referral with the S.O.S. Coordinator, Angela Seguin, by calling 831-3457.

Sexual Assault Survivor Support Group

...for survivors of sexual assault. The series runs every semester based upon interest/need. The facilitators hold appointments with interested persons individually, prior to the first meeting of the group. To find out more or to set up an appointment, contact Angela Seguin, 831-3457, at Wellspring, 231 South College Avenue.

Educational programming

...for residence halls, sororities and fraternities, class presentations, or any group. To arrange a program for your group, you need to complete a Program Request Form. We STRONGLY RECOMMEND that you make the request as far in advance of the program as possible, preferably 10-14 days. Publicity for the program is the responsibility of the requestor unless it is a campus-wide program with multiple sponsors. You can request a program at the Wellspring office or complete the online Program Request Form here. Popular program titles are listed below. For full descriptions, see the Wellspring Program List.
