Be a Healthy Hen!
The Student Health Service is offering a new program this year called Healthy Hens, to help students in achieving optimal health, specifically regarding exercise, nutrition and sleep. Feeling great and performing at your best are the best benefits, but if you complete the program you will also be eligible for a grand prize drawing. Stop by the Healthy Hens Fair in Trabant Student Center on November 18th to learn more, see the Healthy Hens website, or call Student Health at 831-2226 for more information.
Housing Options
both on and off campus:
- If you are a resident of University Residence Halls, and your assailant lives nearby, the staff in your hall may be able to facilitate an expedient move for your safety and wellbeing. See your Resident Assistant and/or Hall Director for more information about your options. They may also be able to assist you in reaching some of the other resources mentioned in this website.
- If you rent an apartment OFF CAMPUS and you have experienced a sexual assault or an incidence of intimate partner violence, you are legally allowed to be released from your lease agreement without financial penalty. Professionals who work with victims may provide assistance to victims wishing to end their contract. Call Wellspring to set up an appointment with Angela Seguin for more information and assistance.
- If you are concerned that you may be in danger of physical abuse or sexual assault by an intimate partner (boyfriend, girlfriend, ex, etc.), you may call Delaware's Domestic Violence Hotline at 762-6110. Hotline staff can provide you with information about area shelters where you can go as a temporary safe place to stay. The hotline staff will be able to answer questions you have about utilizing a shelter and other services offered. A friend may call for you to gather information, but ultimately the hotline staff member will need to speak with the victim directly.
- If you think that you are in a potentially abusive or violent relationship but you aren't sure, or you think you may have experienced a sexual assault, you can call S.O.S. and speak to a volunteer 24 hours/day to discuss your concerns, learn about options, and get referrals to helpful resources.
To reach the SOS Victim Advocate on duty (24 hrs/day) call 831-2226. The person who answers will take a first name and phone number and the advocate will call you back within 10 minutes.

Movie Showing for World AIDS Day: House of Numbers
120 Smith Hall
"This is the first film to present the uncensored POVs of virtually all the major players; in their own settings, in their own words. It rocks the foundation upon which all conventional wisdom regarding HIV/AIDS is based. House of Numbers could well be the opening volley in a battle to bring sanity and clarity to an epidemic gone awry." MEET THE FILMMAKERS: Brent Leung and David Snyder will be available after the screening for Q&A about the film. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to ask the directors your questions! Sponsored by the LGBT Office and Wellspring.
