Be a Healthy Hen!

The Student Health Service is offering a new program this year called Healthy Hens, to help students in achieving optimal health, specifically regarding exercise, nutrition and sleep. Feeling great and performing at your best are the best benefits, but if you complete the program you will also be eligible for a grand prize drawing. Stop by the Healthy Hens Fair in Trabant Student Center on November 18th to learn more, see the Healthy Hens website, or call Student Health at 831-2226 for more information.

Confidentiality Policy

S.O.S. services are strictly confidential. To the degree that the caller wishes to remain anonymous, he or she may remain anonymous. In some situations, we will maintain confidentiality but anonymity will not be possible.

Examples: If the caller would like assistance with getting excused from a class or an extension on an assignment or exam, the SOS Coordinator will need the student's name and be at liberty to contact the students' professor. This would only happen as requested by the victim. Or, if the victim wishes to have an S.O.S. Victim Advocate accompany them to the hospital, police, counseling, Office of Student Conduct meeting or hearing, or to any other services, we will learn the victim's name.

For purposes of University recordkeeping, S.O.S. provides call statistics annually. However, callers' identities, details, and stories are kept strictly confidential.

Philosophy

S.O.S. believes in empowering individuals and groups to respond to survivors of sexual assault in ways that are confidential, empathic, and non-judgemental. We believe in treating all contacts with respect, dignity, and equality regardless of circumstances, race, color, gender, religion, ancestry, national origin, sexual orientation, veteran status, age, or disability. We believe that it is possible to reduce sexual assault through education, understanding, and compassion.
