Be a Healthy Hen!
The Student Health Service is offering a new program this year called Healthy Hens, to help students in achieving optimal health, specifically regarding exercise, nutrition and sleep. Feeling great and performing at your best are the best benefits, but if you complete the program you will also be eligible for a grand prize drawing. Stop by the Healthy Hens Fair in Trabant Student Center on November 18th to learn more, see the Healthy Hens website, or call Student Health at 831-2226 for more information.
Training Information
TRAINING IS ESSENTIAL AND REQUIRED for becoming a member of Pow! Training will focus on a variety of material, including health information, programming skill development, and values clarification.
GENERAL SPRING 2009 TRAINING WILL BE HELD on Friday, April 17, 2009 thru Sun, April 19th. Attendance is MANDATORY for ALL new volunteers:
Friday, April 17th, 2009, 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Saturday, April 18th, 2009, 10:00am - 6:00pm
Sunday, April 19th, 2009, 11:00am - 5:00pm
PLEASE NOTE: These training dates are very important. You must be able to attend ALL TRAINING SESSIONS to participate in Pow!
Additionally, after this initial training, each new member will select a topic of focus. The choice is between SUGAR: Sexual Understanding, Growth, Awareness & Responsibility or ABIDE: About Body Image & Disordered Eating. Break-out trainings will take place in these two subject areas. Sessions listed below are for the Pow! topic group that you have selected to participate in ONLY:
For those who select ABIDE (MANDATORY):
Tuesday, April 28th, 5-7 pm
Tuesday May 5th, 5-7 pm
Tuesday, May 12th, 5-7pm
For those who select SUGAR (MANDATORY):
Monday May 4th, 6-8:30 p.m.
Monday May 11th, 6-8:30 p.m.
