Where is the Employee Wellness Center located? It is located in room 125 Carpenter Sports Building, past the pool and down the first hallway on the right. The office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and closed on Fridays.
Is Employee Wellness responsible for the Employee Fitness Center (EFC)? Although we use the EFC to offer some services such as personal training, the EFC is operated by Recreation Services. Questions about regulations and equipment in the EFC should be directed to Barry Miller in Recreation Services, at 831-1578.
Are Wellness Dollars real? Can they be used to buy something outside of UD? Wellness Dollars are not real dollars - they are part of your benefits package, used for accounting purposes to track participation in Employee Wellness Center programs. Full-time employees and retirees receive 50 Wellness Dollars to use between July 1st and June 30th on their choice of programs. Part-time employees receiving benefits receive a pro-rated amount of Wellness Dollars. Wellness Dollars may not be used to pay for services outside of UD, such as fitness club memberships or doctor's appointments.
How may I spend my Wellness Dollars? Wellness Dollars can be used for your choice of employee wellness programs, for fitness class passes, or for the use of a locker through Recreation Services. To learn about employee wellness offerings, visit www.udel.edu/wellness/dollarprograms.html. For locker and fitness class information, contact Recreation Services at 831-2259.
What if I use all of my Wellness Dollars before June 30th? If you have used all of your Wellness Dollars, you may purchase services with cash or a check payable to the University of Delaware. One Wellness Dollar is equivalent to 1 real dollar, so if a program costs 10 Wellness Dollars, you would pay $10.
What if I don't use all of my Wellness Dollars by June 30th? You LOSE them! On July 1, all unused accounts are deleted and full-time employees & retirees with benefits receive 50 new Wellness Dollars to be used in the upcoming fiscal year.
Can my spouse use Wellness Dollars? Spouses do not receive Wellness Dollars, and an employee's Wellness Dollars may not be transferred to another person. Spouses are welcome to access all of the same wellness services as employees, though they must be paid for with cash or a personal check made payable to University of Delaware. One Wellness Dollar is equivalent to 1 real dollar, so if a program costs 10 Wellness Dollars, a spouse would pay $10
If I don't use my Wellness Dollars, can I give them to my co-worker? No. Wellness Dollars are non-transferable.
How do I check my Wellness Dollar balance? Current employees may check their Wellness Dollar balance on the self-services benefits views at https://chico.nss.udel.edu/psview/ben_other.jsp?ssv. See the Health Maintenance/Wellness View for your current Wellness Dollar balance. Retirees seeking Wellness Dollar balance information should contact the Office of Human Resources at 831-2171.
Who is my department's Wellness Representative and how do I contact him/her? You may contact the Employee Wellness Center at 831-8388 to find the name and contact information for your department's representative. Your representative, delegated by the Employee Wellness Center, is able to provide you with information regarding current and upcoming programs, and to answer questions you may have pertaining to the Center.
How do I get a locker? All questions regarding lockers should be directed to Linda Baird in Recreation Services, at 831-2259.
I have an idea for a UD fitness classes. Whom should I contact? Questions about fitness classes can be directed to Kristin Davidson in Recreation Services, at 831-1582.
Do miscellaneous wage employees receive Wellness Dollars? No - miscellaneous wage employees do not receive Wellness Dollars. However, miscellaneous wage employees may purchase employee wellness programs and services by paying with cash or a check made payable to University of Delaware. One Wellness Dollar is equivalent to 1 real dollar, so if a program costs 10 Wellness Dollars, a miscellaneous wage employee would pay $10.
Are graduate students eligible to use employee wellness services? No. Graduate students do not receive Wellness Dollars and may not participate in Employee Wellness Center programs and services.
