PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

HealthyU offers a variety of physical activity programs that help to show you how to get started or reinforce your commitment to staying active as well as how to stick with it. Because your hard work shouldn't go unrecognized, you can also earn rewards for your participation. All of the programs are designed to help you set realistic goals based on your current activity patterns that will encourage fitness for a lifetime.

Dare to be fit

Cost: $25 Wellness Dollars

5K Fun Walk/Run - Thursday, October 13

The Blue and Gold challenge returns- gather up your co-workers and get moving for some friendly competition. Set a goal and keep track of your weekly minutes of physical activity. Record your minutes on your log and return it for a prize. Report your weekly minutes to have them added to your team's standings. Registration includes a free entry into a 5K Fun Walk/Run, pre- and post-program fitness testing and a kickoff walk.

12 Days of Fitness

Cost: FREE
November – December, 2011
Location – Employee Fitness Center

Treat yourself to the gift of good health by staying active this holiday season. Physical activity is a great way to relieve stress and enjoy a few holiday goodies without gaining weight. This program will provide a foundation to maintain a consistent exercise routine during the holidays.


Spring Into Wellness

Cost: $30 Wellness Dollars
February 27 – May 4, 2012

Shake off the winter blues and get moving! During this 8-week challenge you'll track your level of physical activity and healthy eating habits, participate in optional energizer activities, educational workshops and weigh-ins. Activities will be scheduled at various times and locations on the Newark campus.


Summer Olympic Challenge

Cost: $15 Wellness Dollars
June 18 – July 29, 2012

It's an Olympics year- time to get off the sidelines and into the action! Set a goal for the level of summer physical activity you'd like to achieve and keep track on the activity log we'll send you. Enjoy weekly tips on how you can enjoy the same activities featured during the Summer Olympic Games, right here at home.
