Spring is here! Time to rejuvenate and begin again - starting with your health. Whether it's information, a helping hand, or just a little extra motivation you need, you can find it at the 2009 Employee Health and Wellness Expo. This FREE event will feature over 40 vendors who are all ready to assist you in taking charge of your health.

Many community and internal UD organizations will be represented and will be distributing a variety of information and giveaways. Some of the exhibitors include: The American Diabetes Association, Cancer Care Connection, Christiana Care Preventative Medicine, The Birth Center, Newark Parks & Recreation, Leisure Fitness and the YMCA of Delaware. Come see what resources are available to you right on campus like UD's Nutrition and Dietetics Club, Physical Therapy Clinical Services and Occupational Health & Safety just to name a few.

Another feature of the Healthy and Wellness Expo is the "Screening Zone". For just 10 Wellness Dollars you may choose to participate in a variety of health screenings. This year's screenings will include:

  • Vision screenings conducted by representatives from Halpern Eye Associates
  • Spinal screening with Dr. Sean Maas Chiropractics
  • Bone density screening with Christiana Care Imaging Services
  • Blood pressure screening with representatives from the Delaware Stroke Initiative.

Avoid the line for screenings and pre-register at Healthy U registration system (Screening Zone). Upon registering, a wristband will be mailed to you for you to wear for quick entrance into the "zone."

All attendees of the Health and Fitness Expo will receive a goody bag filled with coupons and valuable information as well as a raffle ticket. Donated prizes will be raffled off throughout the day, like massages, designer eye wear and fitness apparel. There's something for everyone. Join us for a great day with a new HEALTHY U!
