| UDelNet Account Activation - Start Dates |
Summer 2008 | UD Summer students may activate after June 2, 2008. |
- New Students: Activate your UDelNet account
- An active UDelNet account provides access to UD e-mail and a host of other services available to UD students.
New Students and Transfer Students who attend DelaWorld will set their
PIN which will be used along with their UD ID, to activate the UDelNet account.

Don't be phished! Delete these messages.
Remember:
You will NEVER be asked to confirm account information on-line to keep your account active -
by the University of Delaware or any other legitimate entity.

- Review UD Policies:
- Activate UDelNet Account:
- Know your UD ID (number with 5 or 9 characters) and your PIN
- If you don't know your UD ID and/or PIN and you are on campus,
go to the Student Services Building.
If you are off campus, call
(302) 831-2132. If you are a Continuing Education student, call the Access Center at (302) 831-2741.
- Choose your UDelNet ID and password:
- Go to http://www.udel.edu/network,
login using your UD ID and PIN, and follow the prompts to activate your account.
You may be asked to complete online examinations. You will set a
UDelNet ID and password and the system will confirm their acceptance.
DO NOT use the AOL Browser; Internet Explorer or Firefox are supported browsers.

Your account is now FULLY ACTIVE.
Within a few minutes you will have access to:
- Access to classes using MyCourses (WebCT) course management software, generally
starts the first day of the semester.
Is your class using MyCourses? Check classes.
- Your UDelNet account is active while you are currently registered for classes.

After you set up your UDelNet Account,
- Know your Security Responsibilities.
- If your computer is hacked or infected, your Residence Hall port or Dial-in access will be turned off until the problem is
resolved.
- Review Information Technologies-User Services
Computer Cleaning Policy and the associated charges.
- Use Webmail Direct to access e-mail messages from the University
- Bringing a Computer to Campus
- Review the Technology Solutions Center's recommendations on buying or bringing a computer to campus.
For substantial savings, see How do I Purchase Software? BEFORE including popular software with your new computer purchase. You must have an active UDelNet account to purchase specially-priced hardware/software.
- BRING TO CAMPUS all computer software disks and documentation/manuals in order to receive support from
the computer manufacturer or UD's computer support staff if your operating system and other software has to be reinstalled.
- Know what is covered under your computer's warranty and the level of service you should expect, along with the manufacturer's support number.
- Before connecting your computer to the campus network, make sure it is not set to share its network connection:
Windows-Turn off Internet Connection Sharing
Macintosh- Do NOT allow computer to create networks.
- Off-campus students: See Connecting to the UD network.

- Your RA will provide late-breaking news concerning connecting to the UD network.
- Set up your room voicemail the day you arrive.
- Landline phone required for all Residence Hall students.
- UD students living in a Residence Hall have telephone answering mailboxes associated
with the telephone line in their room. The mailbox number is their 7-digit phone number. If you need
computing setup help, IT staff will call your room phone and leave you a message.
You cannot access these messages until you set up your room voicemail.
