Budget

Functions: Provide accurate and prompt reports and information to the University community regarding budgetary and other selected financial matters, prepare annual budget for the Board of Trustees, implement and maintain the University's annual operating budget, prepare the request for funds to the State of Delaware, develop budget forecasts, revisions, reports and analyses to support resource allocation and decision-making as requested by budget unit administrators and senior administration, implement budgets and funding for major capital and construction projects, examine/utilize advancing technologies to improve timeliness and accuracy of financial analyses, budget planning and development, and management reporting.

Labor Relations

Units: Employee Relations, Faculty & Staff Assistance

Functions: The Office of Labor Relations promotes fair and stable labor relations. Working principally with professional, salaried and hourly staff, the Office handles professional and salaried staff grievances; and helps mid- and senior-level managers better understand how to deal effectively with employees. The Office also is responsible for the administration of the University's AFSCME contracts with hourly and skilled craft employees, unemployment and worker's compensation, Family Medical Leave Act, and other labor laws.


Office of Equity & Inclusion

Functions: Create equal opportunities for a diverse and stimulating working and learning environment, provide education/consultations about EO/AA issues and compliance training in Affirmative Action, Diversity, and Sexual Harassment, provide student/staff training and educational programs to become LGBT allies, sexual harassment awareness, and creating and building a diverse and inclusive work/learning environment, serves as the Affirmative Action compliance office on campus, housing and implementing the Affirmative Action Plan. Provides annual statistics and data about protected class representation on campus, works with HR Recruitment on hiring and recruitment issues, policy recommendations and serve as an expert in equal opportunity/diversity issues that impact UD.

Treasury Services

Units: Treasury Services, Procurement, Risk Management/Rental Housing

Functions: Treasury Services is responsible for the management of all University banking services and relationships, all facets of bond issuance, and post issuance bond compliance.

Procurement Services is responsible for the purchase of goods and services, payment to vendors and individuals, and strategic supplier partnership development. Procurement Services is also responsible for the administration and oversight of the UD Credit Card program and employee reimbursement requests.

Risk Management oversees a program to identify, assess, mitigate and monitor enterprise risks.

Rental Housing manages an inventory of homes to provide new employees local housing opportunities for up to two years.


University Finance

Functions: Development and implementation of University financial policies and procedures with emphasis on chart of accounts, accounting systems, financial reporting and financial controls. Monitoring, interpretation, and implementation of FASB regulations and tax laws. Coordination of accounting, actuarial and tax services for the University and related organizations.
