UDee with diploma

The 2013 UDon't Need It Student Move Out Project (UDNI) will take place again this year from Monday, May 20 through Saturday, June 1. Sponsored by UD and the City of Newark, the UDNI Student Move Out Project offers UD students an opportunity to help our environment while helping others in our community.

If you have items that you don't need any more and don't want to take with you when leaving the University of Delaware, please join the UDon't Need It Student Move Out Project. If UDon't Need It, don't thow it out...donate it!

Items collected will be offered to local charities first. Any items remaining are made available for sale to the public beginning Tuesday, May 28. The program leaders reserve the right to begin selling to the general public sooner if storage issues arise.

Full details are below. In addition you can find out more from the City of Newark UDon't Need It Student Move Out Project website.

  • Helping more than 200 families through our network of local charitable organizations by redirecting donated furniture and household goods to families in need.
  • Donating more than 2,500 pounds of non–perishable foods to project partner Food Bank of Delaware.
  • Donating approximately 7,000 pounds of clothing, shoes, and bedding materials to local charities.

HOW do I participate?

Simply bring your stuff and your UD ID (students) or proof that you are a landlord (lease agreement, city license, etc.) to the UDon't Need It site.

If you need help unloading your stuff, there will be volunteers on site.
