Willam and Mary


This was a match of blocking. Both team recorded 11 team blocks for the match. The match started off evenly in the first game. Both team played well, and again the difference is service error.

When the Hens straighten out the serving problem, winning was in sight. After the loss in the first game 15-12, the Hens came back and defeated the Tribe in game 2 with the score of 15-8. The seesaw battle continued with the Tribe winning the third game and the Hens winning the fourth with the identical score of 15-9.

In the deciding game, the Hens picked up the blocking game, and won with the score of 15-7. The win also help the Hens with thier confidence into the match with New Hampshire. (see New Hampshire Link)

Stats Leaders:

Sr. Setter, Paige Harrison in her last home matches of the season recored 62 assists for the match and was named the America East Floor Leader of the week.

Jr. Captain, Joanna Dusza led the match in kills with 20 and in digs with 31. Jo also recorded 4 blocks on the day.

Sr. Middle Blocker, Becka Colenda had yet another steady performance by contributing 15 kills, and 4 blocks.

So. Outside Hitter, Krissy Merrill had another good outing late in the season. Her development in performance and maturity really have the coaching staff looking forward to the reminder of the season and futrure. She recorded 15 kills, and 18 digs in the match.

Fr. Middle Blocker, Jen Wanner teamate Paige in America East Honor as the Rookie of the week. Jen recorded 14 kills, 10 digs, and 6 blocks for the match.
