The Hens open the first two game of this match strong. However, in both games, the Hens were their own enemies by way of poor servings.
After the intermission, the Blue Hens were out played by the Dutchwomen at the beginning. Shortly, the Hens put together a great run and won game 3 with the score of 15-10. Riding on the emotion and great hustle on the defensive side of this game, the Hens gain confidence and begin to "attack" the Dutchwomen's defense.
After the win in game 4 and the development of the Hens' attack, the fifth game was basically a formality. Hofstra's attacking percentage in game five was a "0" and the Hens finally proved that we are the team to beat in the conference.
Jr. Outside Hitter, Joanna Dusza led the match with 17 kills, and 31 digs. On top of that, she recorded 3 key blocks on the day
Sr. Middle Blocker, Becka Colenda contributed 10 kills and 5 blocks. While her Fr. Middlemate, Jen Wanner added 10 kills and 2 blocks.
So. Outside Hitter, Krissy Merrill came alive with two key blocks, 9 kills, and 13 digs.
So. Setter/Rideside, Sadie Bjornstad contributed defensively with her 4 blocks and 12 digs.
Sr. Setter, Paige Harrison added to our defensive effort by contributing her 12 digs on the afternoon. She also dished out 45 assists to help with our win.
