Hartford


The Hens had a great weekend. After sweeping the Huskies in three games, the Hens swept the Hawks in three as well.

In the first game, Hartford got off to a 10-2 lead. The Hens then outscore the Hawks 13-2 to take the first game. Key serving from So. Middle Blocker, Amy Carroll help with the first game victory. Again, most everyone had a chance to play and again it was another team effort that led to the victor.

With the win, Coach Viera reached her 650th win in her career. The Hens also reached a 12 consecutive home victories mark that started October 2, 1996. In fact, the Hens lost only 1 game during this streak to Loyola on Sept. 3rd this year.

Stats Leaders:

Sr. Middle Blocker, Becka Colenda, and Sr. Setter, Paige Harrison were again sensational this afternoon. Becka recorded 7 kills to lead the team, and contributed 4 block assists. Paige registered 31 assists, 2 aces, 1 block assists, and 6 digs.

Becka Colenda was also honored as the Melon Bank Blue Hen of the week for the week of October 13 - 19, 1997.
