BHLP scholarships are presented in the form of personal financial awards. The awards are based on the criteria explained below.
Tier 1 Emerging Leader Certificate of Excellence - Students who attend at least 10 events over the course of the academic year, with at least one event in each competency area, and who present a poster on their personal journey as an Emerging Leader through applications of learning, will be awarded certificates of Excellence in Leadership. Sign up for a presentation date on the RSVP link. Options are Monday, April 29; Tuesday, April 30; or Wednesday, May 1.
Tier 1 - The Emerging Leader and Advanced Tier 1 Scholarships - Up to five $250 - $1000 winners
Your poster is a representation of your personal Tier 1 journey as an Emerging Leader. In creating your poster, you should draw from the reflections you have written for each of the 10 or more BHLP workshops/programs you have attended. We are looking for key ideas, evidence of personal growth and increased self-awareness, and illustrations or explanations of what you have learned about leadership. Students earning the Advanced Tier 1 certificate should include reference to their leadership round table on their poster.
Posters are due to Trabant 232 by 12:00pm on April 26. Posters will be presented on April 29, 30 and May 1. Please sign up for one of these sessions on the RSVP link. BHLP Tier 1 scholarships will be awarded to winning posters. Posters will be judged on the criteria listed here.
Tier 2 - The Engaged Leader Scholarship - Up to two $500 winners
Based on project presentation given on Monday, April 29, Tuesday, April 30 or Wednesday, May 1. Please select a date when your group is available and sign up on the RSVP link. You will be contacted about specific time slots. All Tier 2 participants must make a 5-10 minute documentary style presentation on their project. Scholarship applicants will be expected to do more than PowerPoint. Scholarship points are awarded for Creativity, Poise and Professionalism, Inclusion of the 5 Practices of Exemplary Leadership, Inclusion of Vision and Learning Outcomes (how are you a better leader after working on this project?), and Project Results (how is the targeted community better as a result of your project being a success?).
