The Blue Hen Leadership Program, coordinated by the LD Office, provides students with a variety of opportunities to develop themselves as leaders and network with professionals both on- and off-campus.
-
Many members of RSOs, Greek Chapters/Councils, and UD Athletics participate in the BHLP to hone their leadership skills, and to translate their college experiences into marketable traits.

USC > Leadership Development
The Leadership Development Office in TUC 232 is the newest branch of the University Student Centers. The LD Office coordinates the Blue Hen Leadership Program, which provides opportunities for students to hone their leadership skills and prepares them for life after college. The BHLP is open to all students, and is particularly useful for members of Registered Student Organizations (RSOs), Greek Chapters/Councils and Athletics, as it facilitates the translation of college experiences into marketable traits.
The Blue Hen Leadership Program draws on several theories and practical application to provide a diverse understanding of leadership. By participating in a combination of interactive workshops, retreats, conferences, key note speakers and experiential activities, students may advance through several levels of leadership development. Student outcomes are focused on 6 competency areas: Personal Leadership, Organizational Leadership, Communication, Global Perspectives, Community Stewardship, and Management Skills.
Additionally, the BHLP coordinates closely with UD Speaks to bring inspirational leaders to campus. In the 2010-2011 academic year alone, the University of Delaware hosted Karl Rove, Howard Dean, and Bill Cowher.
