The college union is a "student-centered organization that values participatory decision-making. Through volunteerism, its boards, committees, and student employment, the union offers first-hand experience in citizenship and educates students in leadership, social responsibility, and values" (ACUI, 2010).

The University Student Centers supports the educational mission of the University through student focused services and programs which promote student learning, personal development and well-being and academic success. The USC fosters student interest communities, facilitates student engagement and leadership development, promotes responsible citizenship and provides inviting gathering places to relax, study, play recreational games, and enjoy meeting friends.

Our Vision
The Trabant University Center and the Perkins Student Centers will serve as an integral part of the campus life and community at the University of Delaware by providing facilities, programs and services which meet the changing needs of college students through activities, dialogue, and learning.

Mission Statement
The University Student Centers:
  • Serve as community facilities for all members of the University – students, faculty, staff, alumni, and guests.
  • Serve as an integral part of the University's educational environment where students can learn and practice leadership, programming, citizenship, organizational management, interpersonal skills, and cultural appreciation through volunteer opportunities, group leadership and participation, employment, and self-initiated activities.
  • Serve as a place for increased interaction and understanding among individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Serve as campus centers providing services, amenities, and conveniences necessary to campus life and the mission of the University.
