What the Problem Is: 

Students in Delaware Schools use alcohol and other drugs which affect their safety, their personal growth, their relationships and their achievement. This is a problem which has a significant impact not only on individuals, but also on Delaware families, schools, communities, and our state as a whole through lost productivity, health care costs, costs for interventions, rehabilitation, law enforcement and judiciary, as well as loss of potential in our greatest resource—our youth

 

What We Plan to Do and How

Develop Media Plan
  • Enlist youth involvement
  • Target youth, parents, community
  • Provide information to policymakers
Develop youth leadership on issues
  • Support On Applebee Pond Program
  • Support Peer Leadership and Peer Education Programs
Parent Program & Outreach
  • Provide information in Locations and Formats Accessible to Parents
    Support Potluck Parenting, Parent to Parent Programs, and Professional Outreach
  • Increase Parent Awareness of Laws and Risks
    Reduce Role of Parents as Providers
Comprehensive, Research-Based, Age Appropriate Plans for Schools
  • Support School Health Leadership Institute Provide Information, Training and Materials for Research-Based Programs
