Advance Registration Reminders
for Wilmington AA Students

  • Obtain a copy of the fall 2006 registration steps, pre-advisement worksheet, course worksheet and course description list from the tables near the AA offices on the 3rd floor East or retrieve from website at www.udel.edu/udparallel/wilm/advisement.
  • Registration is NOT a first come, first serve process.  It makes NO difference if you submit your planner request on the first day of advance registration or the last.  The deadline for submitting your planner is Sunday, May 7, 2006 by midnight (12:00am).
    • Remember:  the on line planner is a request for classes, not a guarantee that you will get the classes!
  • Any course that has only one section, a course that you really want to take, or a course that is particularly popular should be listed at the top of your planner request so that you have the greatest chances of getting that course.

ALWAYS LIST ALTERNATIVES AND COMPLETE MORE SLOTS ON THE ON LINE PLANNER REQUEST THAT YOU THINK YOU NEED.

Example:  Let’s assume that the two courses you feel you must have are Hist 205 and Musc 101.  Then after those, you want a Soci 2xx Group C, and one of the several courses that would fit a Group D requirement.  A good way to complete your schedule planer would look like this:  ** ALL AA SECTIONS = 7xx (710, 711, 712, or 713)

First Priority Primary:                Hist 205
First Priority Alternative:            Musc 101

Second Priority Primary:            Musc 101
Second Priority Alternative:        Soci 201

If you get Hist 205, you still have Musc 101 listed as Second Priority Primary, so you have the opportunity to get both courses.  But if you don’t get Hist 205 (because it is full) you have Musc 101 listed as its alternative since that is the course that you want second most.  If the on line registration system is able to register you for Musc 101 as the alternative to Hist 205, it is automatically programmed not to give you the same course twice, so when it goes to your second priority it will automatically go to  your alternative, Soc 201.

Third Priority Primary:               Soci 201
Third Priority Alternative:           Crju 201 (another Group C)

Fourth Priority Primary:             Anth 104
Fourth Priority Alternative:         Cisc 105

  • Continue to list courses for fifth, sixth, and even more slots. The more courses you list, the more likely you will have a complete schedule for Fall 2006.
  • Starting April 24, 2006 you can go on-line on SIS+ and complete the on-line schedule planner request.  You can save and submit it later but just be sure to submit it before May 7, 2006 by midnight (12:00am).  Don’t wait until the last minute because you never know if you will experience technical difficulties.
