UD’s premier improv comedy troupe, The Rubber Chickens (pictured here), traveled to Chicago this spring to attend comedy shows and workshops, including one at the famed Second City theatre, where comedians like Stephen Colbert, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler got their first break.
The Rubber Chickens’ Chicago trip was supported by a successful crowdfunding effort, which raised $3,050 from 22 alumni and friends. To date, the University has promoted 21 crowdfunding projects, from covering the boat dockage fees for UD’s Sailing Club to putting on a fashion show by members of the Synergy Fashion Student Group. Since launching, UD’s crowdfunding platform has brought in more than $80,000 from over 1,000 donors.
