Beverly Stewart is the president, director and founder of Back to Basics Learning Dynamics in Wilmington, Del., now state-approved as a private school for kindergarten through 12th grade and as a business and trade school for ages 16 and older, as well as a tutoring service for children and adults in more than 60 subjects. She received the 2011 Entrepreneurial Success Award from the Delaware Small Business Administration, which in 2004 named her the Small-Business Person of the Year. Stewart was inducted into the Hall of Fame of Delaware Women in 2010, received UD’s Outstanding Alumni Award in 2002 and has been awarded the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics.
