Last summer I worked as the press intern for the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security. It was a phenomenal experience and allowed me to have a hands-on approach to my double major of political science and communication. Living in D.C. as a college student would have been unfeasible for me without the aid I received from the Soles Fellowship program. Unfortunately, I did not know Prof. James Soles personally, but I owe the opportunity I had this summer to his scholarship program. Although I did not have the privilege of having Dr. Soles as a professor, his legacy at UD has greatly affected me and will live on to benefit many other political science students.
