4599 Program Manager I (Phone Program) (Level 12) University Development

DEADLINE: July 13, 2009

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor's degree, preferably in business or communications, with a minimum of two years of fundraising and/or administrative experience. Self-motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, and possess demonstrated, effective written and oral communication skills. Supervisory experience is necessary. Public relations or marketing experience and strong employee training, monitoring, and evaluation skills in a fund-raising phone program/telemarketing environment is desired. Experience with SmartCall telemarketing system is preferred, as well as database or systems management. Familiarity with the University of Delaware is helpful.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties require a working schedule of 12:30 to 9:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday throughout most of the year.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the day-to-day functions of the Development Office's Phone Program. Key marketing strategist in the acquisition and retention of donors. Hire, train, monitor and evaluate approximately 100 employees each year including the caller workforce and student supervisors. Manage the nightly calling sessions, the calling schedule, and the follow-up daily processing workforce. The Phone Program Manager will prepare scripts, troubleshoot system constraints, and maintain data lists and communication with the Development IT staff to resolve hardware and software problems. Evening and weekend hours are required, and a flexible schedule is important. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
