Professional Positions 4585 Manager of Development Records (Level 14) University Development DEADLINE: July 15, 2009 QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred with four years of professional development job experience in fundraising or institutional advancement with proven experience in records management, preferably in a university or college environment. Demonstrated management experience and professional development of staff. Ability to work effectively in a team setting, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills. Skill in developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Must be highly proficient in word processing, database, and presentation software (MS Office). Must be proficient in working with relational databases. Experience with Sungard Advance required. Knowledge and understanding of relevant tax regulations, gift acknowledgement, operating guidelines and reporting requirements. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. Ability to develop and implement short-and-long-term goals and plans. Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures. Ability to communicate and work effectively within a diverse community. Ability to persuade and influence others. Ability to use independent judgment and to perform tasks on own initiative, many of which have no precedent. Possess strong self-motivation. Proven success working with high level administrators and staff. Must be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, highly driven and results oriented. Have the ability to effectively manage multiple projects, tasks and deadlines. RESPONSIBILITIES: Under the limited direction of the Senior Director of Development Services, lead and supervise a proactive records staff in the management of alumni, donor and constituent records ensuring data integrity and maintaining and enhancing confidential information. Oversee the biographical records maintenance functions in support of the University’s development and external relations efforts. Responsible for data interfaces within and external to its development and alumni relations database system, Advance. Oversee the gift records responsible for gift, matching gift, and pledge records, and posting daily gifts into Advance. Responsible for data integrity as it pertains to biographical and gift data, which includes data transfers such as, but not limited to, UDSIS, Online Community, Smartcall, the gift data transferred into the General Accounting system, the daily/weekly/monthly/annual internal and external reports of gifts, and adhering to CASE/NACUBO guidelines, issuing donors receipts which are accurate and meet IRS guidelines. Responsible for preparing for the upcoming University campaign. Supervise staff in biographical records and gift records.
