4414 Chair in Energy, University of Delaware Energy Institute

University-wide position endowed by the Unidel Foundation, and with potential appointments in multiple departments. The Chair will also serve as Director of University of Delaware Energy Institute (UDEI).

QUALIFICATIONS:  Ph.D. or equivalent degree, and have a demonstrated record of accomplishments and leadership in energy-related research and scholarship commensurate with appointment to a senior faculty position in one or more departments of the University.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Further strengthen the university’s interdepartmental teaching and research programs in the field of energy, and to lead the University of Delaware Energy Institute (UDEI) to a position of national and international prominence. The mission of UDEI is first, to create the enabling science and advance the development of new and emerging energy technologies; second, to leverage the University’s strengths in research, education and policy, in partnership with industry and government, to meet the challenges posed by our future energy needs; and finally, to make the University of Delaware a leading resource for energy education and innovation to benefit the State of Delaware and to promote the Nation’s energy independence and security.
