New Board Member

Victor Chang recently resigned from the UDFSC Board. Victor served the Board for several years as Club Auditor and win certainly be missed. Many thanks Victor for all you have done! Please welcome Kathy Watts who will fill the vacant Board position. Her term will run until May, 1997.

The UDFSC Board is seeking nominations for the upcoming election. Please notify Joy Lynam, Barbara Heilman or Kathy Watts if you would like to run for the Board or nominate someone.

Test Sessions

Upcoming test sessions and deadlines are as follows:

Wednesday, April 10, 1996. Deadline: March 25, 5 p.m.

Tuesday, May 14, 1996. Deadline: April 26, 5 p.m.

Thursday, June 20, 1996. Deadline: June 4, 5 p.m.

Tuesday, July 16, 1996*. Deadline: June 28, 5 p.m.

Thursday, August 1, 1996*. Deadline: July 16, 5 p.m.

Friday, August 23, 1996*. Deadline: August 2, 5 p.m.

Wednesday, September 11, 1996*. Deadline: August 23, 5 p.m.

*NOTE: No retests from the previous month are permitted since there are less than 30 days between test dates.

Skaters and coaches are expected to submit applications with complete information on time in order to have tests scheduled. Be sure to attach any special requests to your application. Please arrive at least 1 hour before your scheduled test time. If you are late for a test, test fees may not be reflinded. If you would like to volunteer please contact Pat Stapleford.

Sports Accident Insurance Program

You will find on the next page a copy of the insurance policy which members of the USFSA receive as part of their USFSA membership. It details the covered activities and limits of the insurance policy.

Club Ice

Just a reminder that Club ice is still available on Sunday evenings in the Blue Arena. The walk on rate is $9 for a 45 minute session.

Dance session: 5:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.

Freestyle session: 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

1996 Eastern Sectional Precision Team Championships Results

The University of Delaware Precision Teams once again have qualified several teams for National Competition. Congratulation to all of the teams and their members! Team placings were as follows:

Icicles Youth Team - 4th Place

Gold Blades Teen Team - 3rd Place

Blade Runners Intermediate Team - 3rd Place out of 19 teams

The Skating Edge Junior Team - 3rd Place out of 13 teams

Delaware Diamonds Adult Masters Team - 1st Place

Delaware Diamonds Adult Open Team - 2nd Place

Precisionaires Senior Team - 3rd Place

The Icicles Youth Team and Gold Blades Teen Team competed in divisions which do not advance to Nationals. The Blade Runners, Skating Edge, Delaware Diamonds Adult Masters, Delaware Diamonds Adult Open and Precisionaires Senior Team all advance to Nationals. GOOD LUCK!
