Scholastic Honors Team

The UDFSC is proud to note that 4 of the 12 student-athletes recognized for scholastic achievement by the USFSA during a special ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 10, at the 2000 State Farm U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Cleveland, Ohio are members of the UDFSC.

The UDFSC student-athletes honored were Abbi Gleeson, Lauren Hill, Scott Smith, and Christy Taylor. Congratulations on your achievement as an athlete and scholar.

Rust Arena Closing Affects Arena Access

The Fred Rust Ice Arena will be closed from March 20 until June 19, 2000 to have the roof replaced. This affects all activities and programs held in the arena. All of the Training Center Sessions will be held in the Gold Arena during this period. Modified schedules are available at the arena, so be sure to get one to check for changes. Sunday sessions and UDFSC club ice will be held in the Gold Arena in their current time slots. The Community Class Basic Badge Sessions will also be held in the Gold Arena, but there is some time changes that were made to accommodate other programs. These changes are listed in the Ice Arena Program Guide.

Access to the Gold Arena will also be affected. Due to the construction, there will be a fenced-in walkway from the parking lot in front of the Fred Rust Arena to the Gold Arena doors. There will be no road access to the doors of the Gold Arena.

The much needed renovations to the Fred Rust Ice Arena will cause some inconvenience but Ice Arena Management has worked hard to keep this to a minimum and to accommodate all of the programs in the best manner possible.

For more information on the arena closing, call (302) 831-2868 or send e-mail to Pat Guyer at pguyer@udel.edu.
