He breathes, he blinks, he cries and he sweats. He is iStan, a $65,000 mannequin that brings an unprecedented degree of realism to nursing education. As of August, fewer than 250 of the 180-pound models had been shipped to nursing schools and hospitals throughout the country. Thanks to a grant from the Unidel Foundation, the University of Delaware has one of them.
When Zoubeida Dagher, University of Delaware professor of education, was asked to serve as deputy dean in the College of Education at Qatar University, it was a challenge she says she couldn't refuse.
