Warren Award

Rosalind Johnson, assistant dean for student success in the NUCLEUS Program in UD's College of Arts and Sciences, was presented the John Warren Excellence in Leadership and Service Award during a May 26 ceremony.

After 22 years serving in a variety of leadership roles for Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, Pike joined Quintiles in 2012.

Quintiles went public the following year and has been gaining market share since. Pike expanded the revenue and profit margins of Quintiles, and he brought to the company his reputation as a “financial wizard.”

This standing makes him a frequent guest on television finance shows like CNBC’s Mad Money and the Fox Business Network’s Morning Money

In February, Quintiles was named to Fortune magazine’s “World’s Most Admired Companies” list for 2015.

Pike is an active UD alumnus, having established The Pike "Helping Hand" Scholarship in 2013 with his wife, Joanne. Pike said that he received a helping hand to pay his tuition when he was an undergraduate in the Lerner College, and he sees this scholarship, which supports accounting majors, as an opportunity to pay it forward.

Pike also is an avid supporter of the Lerner College’s students, sharing his expertise with them providing opportunities to network with him and others in his organization. He was a recent featured presenter in the Lerner College’s Business Roundtable.

“I am humbled to be included among the 100 AACSB influential leaders,” Pike said. “My time at the University of Delaware gave me a foundation and opportunities that have been critical to my success."

As an AACSB Influential Leader, Pike joins individuals such as the CEO of one of the world’s largest global relief services, a technology pioneer who is working to cure cancer, the founder of a global e-commerce powerhouse and an enterprising president attributed with reviving an international toy industry favorite. More than 20 industry sectors, from consumer products to healthcare to nonprofits, across 21 countries, are present in this year’s group

“We are proud that the business and accounting programs in the Lerner College are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB),” said Lerner College Dean Bruce Weber.”

“We are also exceedingly proud that AACSB has chosen alumnus Tom Pike as one of AACSB’s first 100 Influential Leaders. He is certainly deserving of the honor as he is the epitome of an exceptional leader and industry innovator.”

Thomas R. Robinson, president and chief executive officer of AACSB International, said, “It is my honor to recognize Thomas Pike for his contributions as an Influential Leader, and to thank the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics for its dedication to providing a business education environment based on engagement, innovation, and impact.”

“If told, the success stories of all business school graduates would fill immeasurable volumes. AACSB is honored to celebrate Tom Pike — and the collective 100 Influential Leaders — as a representation of how business school alumni have positively influenced society, as well as the management education industry’s, past, present, and promising future.”
