Horn Program center, director, startups nominated for first-ever Delaware Innovation Awards
2:10 p.m., Oct. 12, 2015--Voting is now open for the Technical.ly Delaware’s first annual Delaware Innovation Awards, which celebrate the First State’s trailblazers and their exciting new ideas.
Affiliates of the Horn Program in Entrepreneurship at the University of Delaware’s Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics are nominated in three Delaware Innovation Awards categories.

These nominees include:
- Horn Program Director Dan Freeman, nominated for Tech Community Organizer of the Year;
- The Horn Program’s Venture Development Center, nominated for Colocation or Incubator Space of the Year; and
- Three startups that have worked with the Horn Program’s VentureOn Program nominated for Tech Startup of the Year-- Carvertise, founded by UD alumnus Mac Nagaswami; ProjectedU, founded by UD alumni Ben Rapkin and Austin Crouse; and LendEDU, founded by UD students Matt Lenhard and Nate Matherson.
Other UD nominees include Mike Bowman, associate director of the Office of Economic Innovation and Partnership, in the category Tech Community Organizer of the Year, and Willett Kempton, professor in the School of Marine Science and Policy, in the category Scientist of the Year.
Voting will remain open until Friday, Nov. 13, and the winners will be announced on Friday, Nov. 20.
