Events Stories

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

The presentation, which will be moderated by Lindsay Hoffman, associate professor in UD’s Department of Communication and associate director of the Center for Political Communication, is free and open to the public.

Bailey reports on the urban struggle and those disenfranchised by poverty, especially in Miami, where he resides.

He penned Trick Daddy’s memoir Magic City: Trials of a Native Son, which was named by The New York Times as one of the pop music gems of 2010.

Following success with the memoir, Bailey created the docu-series NiteCap with Peter Bailey, where he has interviewed several American pop culture icons, including entertainers Waka Flocka, Wyclef Jean, 50 Cent and Ice T.

Bailey’s reporting has been published in Time, Newsweek and the Miami Herald, among others.
