Curator's Talk to focus on Mineralogical Museum exhibition

8:47 a.m., Oct. 8, 2015--Sharon Fitzgerald of University Museums at the University of Delaware will present a curator’s talk on the Mineralogical Museum exhibition featuring specimens from the Irénée du Pont collection from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14.

The talk, to begin at 5:30 p.m., will be held in the Mineralogical Museum in Penny Hall.

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

The du Pont collection, which was gifted to the University in 1964, is the foundation of the Mineralogical Museum.

The research of Fitzgerald, museum curator, was recently published as a supplement to the Mineralogical Record and has greatly enhanced knowledge about the collection’s specimens and their provenance.
