Oct. 23: Big data for public good
Lecture to explore uses of big data to answer world's important questions
12:35 p.m., Oct. 21, 2015--The use of big data to benefit the public will be the topic of a lecture on Friday, Oct 23, at the University of Delaware.
Fiona Greig, research director of the JPMorgan Chase Institute, will present “Using Big Data for the Public Good,” a discussion of the mission of her research center.

Greig will also discuss the findings of two recent studies. In both cases, the JPMorgan Chase Institute used extensive account-level big data to help answer questions of intense public interest.
“This work is not only right on target for our Institute for Financial Services Analytics in methodology and topic, but is also highly influential,” said Paul Laux, UD finance professor.
Greig’s lecture will take place from 11 a.m. to noon in Room 221 of One South Main Street, the Graduate Hub of the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics.
