Oct. 12-17: AKA Week
Women of Alpha Kappa Alpha plan week of activities
2:45 p.m., Oct. 8, 2015--The women of the Lambda Gamma chapter of Alpha Kappa Apha sorority at the University of Delaware will hold several events during AKA Week, scheduled Oct. 12-17.
On Tuesday, Oct. 13, "Green Is the New Black," an environmental justice program, will be held at 7 p.m. in Room 222 Alison Hall. This event is cosponsored with the NAACP.

June 6-9: Food and culture series
The theme on Wednesday, Oct. 14, is "Into the Depths of the Black Mind" for a program at 7 p.m. in Room 118 Purnell Hall. This event is cosponsored with Active Minds.
On Thursday, Oct. 15, a Brighten Up educational workshop and breast cancer awareness program will be held at 7 p.m. in Room 206 Kirkbride Lecture Hall. Cosponsors are the Alpha Phi sorority Epsilon Nu chapter and Bright Pink.
"The Beauty Project: Ghana" will be presented at 6 p.m., Friday, Oct. 16, in 222 Alison Hall. This event is cosponsored with Sisters on the Move, and participants are asked to bring canned food for a food drive.
Other activities during the week include an academic enrichment session at Downes Elementary School and a playground clean-up event.
