On Dec. 4, the topic will be “Considering the right things: Motivate students to evaluate teaching fairly.” The session is scheduled from 3:30-5 p.m. in Room 315 of the Harker Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Laboratory. To register, click here.
Course evaluation season is nearly here, and in this roundtable, experienced faculty members will offer insight into how they have used and conducted end-of-semester course evaluations.
Some panelists are or have been department chairs or deans and will contribute input from those perspectives, too. Joy Lynam, UD's director of IT Web Development, will also be on the panel to share the experiences and insights she has gained from managing the university's online course evaluations for nearly 15 years.
Attendees will also spend some time in this session planning for their end-of-course evaluations. With the help of panelists and other attendees, participants will compile concrete ideas on how to make the value of these evaluations clear to students so they can provide fair, honest and useful feedback.
