Thanksgiving with OISS
OISS plans Thanksgiving programs, opens registration for holiday host families
10:25 a.m., Nov. 12, 2015--Some might say that Thanksgiving is the iconic American holiday, and the University of Delaware Office for International Students and Scholars annually sponsors two programs aimed at introducing the international community to this long-celebrated tradition.
On Sunday, Nov. 22, international students, scholars and employees are invited to attend Thanksgiving Dinner with OISS. Featuring traditional staples, OISS staff will also present information on the holiday’s meaning and history. This event has registered over 375 guests and is currently sold out.

While Thanksgiving Dinner with OISS is full, all international students, scholars and their families with an interest in attending Thanksgiving Dinner on Nov. 26 with an American host family are encouraged to submit this form by Friday, Nov. 20 at 5 p.m.
In addition, OISS invites members of the campus community to host one or more international students and scholars on Thanksgiving Day. To register interest, complete the following form by Friday, Nov. 20. Details about Thanksgiving Day logistics and transportation will be provided individually after host family matches have been made. About OISS programming
While the primary role of the Office for International Students and Scholars is to help the international community understand immigration regulation and maintain legal visa status in the United States, the office also collaborates with campus and community partners to offer over 100 programs and services every year.
These programs help promote international understanding across campus, support academic success, and connect the international community to the greater Newark area.
