10:06 a.m., Nov. 13, 2015--The University of Delaware Police Department and the University of Delaware Library have announced an upcoming new security measure aimed at providing better protection for UD students, faculty and staff and members of the larger community who use the Morris Library.

In January 2016 a new turnstile security system and a Welcome Desk staffed by the UD Police Department will be installed in the entrance to the Morris Library. The turnstiles will be similar to those in use at the Carpenter Sports Building.

June 6: UDid It! Picnic

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

2FA protects you

If you are using two-factor authentication (2FA), even if a hacker has your password, your information is probably safe.

For streamlined entry into the building, UD students, faculty and staff are encouraged to get in the habit of bringing their ONEcards whenever they visit the Morris Library.

When the turnstile security system is in use, students and employees can tap their ONEcard on a card reader to enter through the turnstiles.

Members of the public will continue to have access to the library by stopping at the Welcome Desk with their own identification.

More details regarding this security improvement will be available in January 2016.
