The Chronicle of Higher Education selected this work for their October 2014 book club and interviewed Daniel Chambliss, who discussed his research. Chambliss and Takacs followed 100 students for eight years and this text shares their results.

The authors ask and attempt to answer the questions:

  • Can colleges do more to improve the quality of education even with budgets cuts? And
  • Can students get more out of college without paying higher tuition?

The Faculty Commons is always looking for book club facilitators. Those who are interested in leading this discussion or sponsoring a session in the future can contact faculty-commons@udel.edu
