Parking Services establishes 'donation station' to benefit Food Bank of Delaware

11:31 a.m., Jan. 4, 2016--As the New Year begins, University of Delaware Parking Services is continuing its partnership with the Food Bank of Delaware by redeploying a parking meter as a “donation station.”

The donation station parking meter will be available in the Perkins Student Center and accepts coins, credit cards and debit cards. Donations will be collected and distributed to the Food Bank of Delaware monthly.

This project is a collective idea developed by Parking Services and the director. This group effort included assembly and painting by the field staff, seasonal decorations by the office staff, and the crafting of procedures and securing of administrative approval by the administrative staff.

The UD community is invited to “stop by and consider donating to help those less fortunate,” a Parking Services representative said.
