Free diabetes workshop set at Health Sciences Complex
1:46 p.m., Feb. 8, 2016--A free, six-session diabetes self-management workshop will be held beginning Feb. 25, at the Health Sciences Complex on the University of Delaware's STAR Campus, 540 South College Ave., Newark.
Presented by the Delaware Diabetes Self-Management Program (DSMP), the workshop will meet from 5:30-8 p.m., Thursdays, Feb. 25-April 7, in Atrium Room 113. Class will not be held on March 31 because of spring break.

Participants will learn how knowledge about how to manage diabetes can:
• Help them prevent and/or delay health complications;
• Improve their hemoglobin A1C (average blood sugar reading);
• Help them make better food choices and lose weight;
• Help them better control their glucose levels through exercise and stress management; and
• Help them communicate better with their health care providers.
