Library offers 'Starting Research with PolicyMap' workshop
8:16 a.m., Feb. 19, 2016--The University of Delaware Library will present a workshop on “Starting Research with PolicyMap” on March 2.
For those who are interested in demographic trends but aren’t sure about investing the time needed to learn ArcGIS, PolicyMap is a cloud based data and mapping platform that facilitates the analyses of large amounts of data and quickly displays it in maps, tables, charts and reports.

Users can choose from among 15,000 indicators related to demographics, income and spending, housing, lending, quality of life, economy, education, health, jobs, crime, and education and apply them across a wide range of geographies.
Workshop participants will learn to map places that match two or three criteria of data on a single map, or use the “Data Loader” to upload data points and geocode U.S. addresses.
“Starting Research with PolicyMap” will be offered from 2:30-4:25 p.m., Wednesday, March 2, in Room A of the Student Multimedia Design Center on the lower level of the Morris Library.
Presenter will be John Stevenson, associate librarian, Multimedia Collections and Services Department.
The workshop is available at no charge and are open to University of Delaware faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required. Online registration is available at this website.
