Parking at Perkins

UD’s Perkins parking garage to go gateless beginning Jan. 2
The University of Delaware Perkins parking garage will go gateless beginning Monday, Jan. 2.
The gate arms will be removed from the entrances and exits. As a result of this change, instead of paying when exiting, hourly customers will be required to pay as soon as they park. Permit holders will enter and exit freely with no need to swipe or tap their UD ID cards.
To pay for parking, hourly customers will use one of six pay-by-plate kiosks located on the first and second floors.
Users will enter their vehicle license plate and choose the length of time for parking. The kiosks will accept exact cash payments, credit cards and validation codes. The kiosks will not accept coins or make change.
As an alternative option for technology savvy customers, the PassPort parking app can be used to pay for parking in the garage, designated as Zone 487.
Parkers who take advantage of the 15 minutes of complimentary parking will be able to utilize the 15-minute spaces placed on the first floor near each stairwell.
