Preparations underway for change in UD leadership next year

1:22 p.m., Dec. 7, 2015--Since Dennis Assanis was elected on Nov. 18 to serve as the University of Delaware's next president, work has been underway for the transition in leadership.

Assanis is planning to take office on July 1, 2016, and until that time Nancy M. Targett continues to serve UD as acting president.

During the transition, Assanis is fully committed to his current post as provost of Stony Brook University. At the same time, he is receiving regular briefings about UD issues and departments and will be making periodic visits to the campus as his schedule allows.

The Office of the Vice President and University Secretary is serving as the transition office, and all communications are being coordinated there.
